President of the Defence Industry Agency (SSB) Haluk Görgün praised the achievement of five Turkish defense companies making it into the prestigious Defense News Top 100 ranking, underscoring Turkey’s growing global presence in the defense sector. In a statement shared on social media, Görgün said: “We have taken our place in the Defense News Top 100 list with five of our companies. ASELSAN and TUSAŞ proudly fly our flag within the top 50, ASFAT and MKE have made significant progress, and ROKETSAN has maintained its position. This picture is the result of our engineers’ determination, the synergy of our sector, and the confidence of our nation.”
He added that the defense industry’s “sustainable growth strategy is not only a success for today but also a guarantee of tomorrow’s global leadership,” reaffirming the sector’s commitment to innovation and self-reliance.
According to the list, ASELSAN ranked 43rd with $3.54 billion in defense revenue, maintaining its position as Turkey’s top defense company. TUSAŞ (Turkish Aerospace Industries) climbed to 47th, ROKETSAN held steady at 71st, ASFAT rose impressively from 94th to 78th, and MKE advanced from 84th to 80th. Collectively, these results highlight Turkey’s growing strength across key domains—from aerospace and electronics to missile systems, naval platforms, and munitions production.
The achievement underscores the effectiveness of Turkey’s localization and export-driven strategy in defense, as well as its ongoing R&D investments. ASELSAN continues to lead in electronics and avionics; TUSAŞ expands its portfolio of aircraft and UAV programs; ROKETSAN remains a global contender in missiles and rockets; ASFAT enhances its shipbuilding and maintenance capabilities; and MKE accelerates modernization in weapons and ammunition systems. Görgün’s emphasis on “full independence” reflects Turkey’s vision of developing a resilient, high-tech, and globally competitive defense ecosystem.
