BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye continues to advance its defense industry’s self-sufficiency with a new partnership bridging high technology and unmanned systems. At IDEF 2025, Büyütech and Titra Teknoloji signed a strategic cooperation protocol to equip Türkiye’s next-generation unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and unmanned helicopters with indigenously developed, high-performance camera systems. The collaboration aims to enhance localization rates, reduce foreign dependency, and strengthen Türkiye’s defense imaging capabilities.
Under the agreement, Büyütech will design, manufacture, and integrate advanced optical systems into several Titra platforms — including the MERKÜT FPV drone, ALPİN and ALPİN-2 unmanned helicopters, DELİ loitering munition, and PARS reconnaissance UAV. Each platform will be fitted with high-resolution, AI-assisted camera systems engineered entirely within Türkiye, ensuring real-time imaging precision and operational reliability in critical missions.
The partnership also exemplifies a successful dual-use technology model, transferring expertise from civilian industries into defense. Büyütech, already known for its work with Togg, Ford Otosan, and Tofaş, has deep experience in Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and smart automotive cameras. By leveraging this background, the company will now apply its proven imaging and AI engineering capabilities to support Türkiye’s defense platforms — effectively making Büyütech “the eye” of national UAVs.
Büyütech CEO Ömer Orkun Düztaş highlighted the company’s mission-oriented approach: “Our vision is to create safer technologies for everyone. What began as engineering for mobility will now serve Türkiye’s national security.” With a current production capacity of 1 million cameras per year, Büyütech plans to scale up to 3.5 million units, establishing itself as one of the region’s most capable imaging technology producers. This scalability will be critical for ensuring a reliable and sustainable supply chain as UAV deployments continue to grow across military and industrial applications.
Experts note that this collaboration not only boosts Türkiye’s defense autonomy but also strengthens the country’s position in the global dual-use technology landscape — where civilian innovation fuels military capability. The integration of local optical and AI-based imaging systems marks a step forward in Türkiye’s pursuit of fully indigenous, modular, and autonomous defense platforms.
