Türkiye has achieved another significant milestone in its defense industry with the successful test of its indigenous ATMACA guided missile. The Ministry of National Defense confirmed that ATMACA was fired from a Mobile Guided Missile System and hit a sea-based target from land for the first time. The test, conducted over the Black Sea, was shared with the public through the Ministry’s official social media accounts, marking a historic achievement for the country’s missile development program.
The ATMACA missile is designed with autonomous navigation, low radar signature, and high target accuracy, making it a formidable asset in modern warfare. It also features 3D mission planning, target update, and re-attack capabilities, ensuring adaptability to dynamic battlefield conditions. With a range of over 220 kilometers, ATMACA significantly enhances Türkiye’s strike capabilities against maritime threats.
Defense Industry President İsmail Demir celebrated the milestone on his Twitter account, expressing his congratulations and extending gratitude to Roketsan and other stakeholders involved in the project. He emphasized that ATMACA’s success highlights Türkiye’s rapid progress in indigenous missile technologies, strengthening the Turkish Armed Forces’ operational capabilities.
This achievement is not only a testament to Türkiye’s growing defense independence but also a demonstration of its increasing deterrence power in both regional and global security contexts.
