BREAKING NEWS
French defense technology company EOS Technologie has announced the successful delivery of its first batch of “Rodeur 330” loitering munitions—also known as kamikaze UAVs—to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. With an operational range of approximately 500 kilometers and an endurance of up to five hours, the Rodeur 330 represents a new generation of unmanned systems designed for both intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) as well as precision strike missions. This dual-role capability allows Ukrainian forces to detect, track, and neutralize high-value targets deep behind enemy lines.
Weighing 25 kilograms, the Rodeur 330 can be deployed by two operators in just three minutes and is launched using a catapult system, enabling rapid deployment even under combat conditions. The UAV is capable of operating at altitudes of up to 5,000 meters and cruising at speeds of 120 km/h, making it well-suited for long-range penetration missions. Its fully autonomous target engagement system and metric-level accuracy are expected to provide Ukraine with a significant operational advantage against critical infrastructure such as air bases, fuel depots, and air defense assets.
EOS Technologie CEO Jean-Marc Zuliani emphasized that Ukraine’s extensive battlefield experience has become a valuable driver of innovation for Western defense manufacturers. He described the Rodeur 330 as a “shield” for Europe and a sharp “sword” for Ukrayna, underlining its strategic importance. Requiring only one week of training to become operational, the system reduces both logistical and training burdens. Analysts note that the deployment of Rodeur 330 UAVs could substantially enhance Ukraine’s ability to conduct deep strikes within Rusya, potentially reshaping the balance on the battlefield.
