BREAKING NEWS
ASELSAN stood out with its advanced defence technologies during the EFES-2026 Exercise, conducted under the coordination of the Turkish Armed Forces at the Doğanbey Live-Fire Exercise Area in Seferihisar, İzmir. The exercise attracted strong international attention and provided an important platform for demonstrating Türkiye’s domestic and national defence capabilities under realistic operational scenarios.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan followed the Distinguished Observer Day of the exercise. ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol briefed President Erdoğan on the ASELSAN systems used during the exercise. The activities were also observed by Minister of National Defence Yaşar Güler, Chief of General Staff General Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, the Turkish Armed Forces command echelon, and defence ministers and chiefs of general staff from friendly and allied countries.
As part of the Defence Industry Exhibition organized under the coordination of the Presidency of Defence Industries, ASELSAN was among the largest participants. Its stand was visited by senior military officials, force commanders, President of Defence Industries Haluk Görgün, and domestic and foreign military delegations. The company showcased a broad product family covering electronic warfare, communications, electro-optics, command and control, air defence and radar systems.
The ASELSAN systems used at EFES-2026 drew attention as solutions designed to meet the needs of modern warfare. Their performance under realistic exercise scenarios once again demonstrated ASELSAN’s operational reliability and field effectiveness. High durability, rapid reaction capability and integrated mission performance were among the key features displayed throughout the exercise.
One of the most notable innovations at EFES-2026 was the first use of ASELSAN’s KOCATEPE Battlefield Management System. KOCATEPE supports decision-making processes by providing commanders and command post personnel with a comprehensive and up-to-date picture of the operational area. This capability is critical for more effective command and control, rapid evaluation of field data and better coordination in joint operations.
At its stand, ASELSAN also displayed the KORKUT 25 Air Defence System, KILIÇ Autonomous Underwater Vehicle, TUFAN Kamikaze Unmanned Surface Vehicle, electro-optical systems and components of the ÇELİKKUBBE air defence architecture. The key elements of ÇELİKKUBBE, Türkiye’s layered air defence architecture, operated together within the same scenario during EFES-2026. This architecture aims to connect sensors, command-control systems and interceptors in a network-centric structure.
Within this framework, SİPER, HİSAR-A, HİSAR-O, KORKUT and İHTAR systems were among the prominent systems used during the exercise. ASELSAN’s KORKUT 35 Low-Altitude Air Defence System stood out with its ability to fire airburst ammunition and provide effective day-and-night defence against modern aerial threats, including UAVs and missiles. These systems demonstrated Türkiye’s multi-layered defence approach against low-altitude, medium-altitude and long-range threats.
The new-generation ALTAY Main Battle Tank, which has entered the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces, also appeared at EFES-2026. ALTAY is equipped with critical ASELSAN technologies that enhance its effectiveness, survivability and situational awareness. This showed that ASELSAN is not only an independent system developer but also a key solution provider for electronic, sensor, command-control and mission systems on land platforms.
ASELSAN’s ARTSoft MAESTRO software, designed for secure messaging, file transfer and live video communication under electronic warfare conditions, was also among the solutions used during the exercise. In addition, more than 30 ASELSAN systems took part in EFES-2026, including the ACAR UAV Detection Radar, MİLKED Land-Based Electronic Support System, Modernized Towed Gun, KALKAN Air Defence System, SERHAT Mortar Detection Radar and ASELPOD Electro-Optical Targeting Pod.
ASELSAN’s performance at EFES-2026 once again demonstrated the Turkish defence industry’s ability to develop integrated, field-ready and game-changing technologies. The systems examined by foreign military delegations and industry representatives stood out as important examples of Türkiye’s growing global competitiveness in defence technologies. The exercise served as a strategic showcase for ASELSAN’s contributions to the Turkish Armed Forces’ deterrence across air defence, electronic warfare, command-control and electro-optical systems.
