BREAKING NEWS
One of Türkiye’s most significant projects in the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) field, the ANKA has become a milestone in the nation’s defense and aviation industries. Developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), ANKA has now accumulated nearly 220,000 flight hours, playing a vital role in critical missions conducted by the Turkish Armed Forces and security units. After its maiden flight in 2010 and official entry into service in 2017, ANKA has evolved into one of the cornerstones of Türkiye’s defense capabilities.
With its proven performance in reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition operations, ANKA continues to provide crucial intelligence to security forces. Throughout its development, the UAV has gained several advanced features, including satellite control capability, which expanded its operational reach beyond national borders. This feature, particularly in the ANKA-S variant, has allowed the platform to be effectively deployed in border security and counter-terrorism missions.
The integration of domestically developed engines by TEI marked another turning point in ANKA’s journey, further strengthening Türkiye’s independence in aerospace technologies. With its indigenous engine, ANKA not only demonstrates advanced technological capabilities but also reflects Türkiye’s engineering strength and determination to reduce foreign dependency in critical defense systems.
ANKA has also achieved notable export success. To date, it has been delivered to five countries, with more than 70 units produced and in service. By the end of 2024, the production of the 140th ANKA is planned, further consolidating Türkiye’s position as a global leader in UAV technology.
With the ANKA UAV, Türkiye has opened the door to a new era in its skies, enhancing strategic independence in defense while positioning itself as a strong player in the global UAV market.
