BREAKING NEWS
Türkiye’s defense industry has reached another milestone with the successful testing of the ALKA Directed Energy Weapon System. Developed under the leadership of Roketsan and initiated by the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), ALKA demonstrated its ability to neutralize both ground and aerial targets with pinpoint accuracy. The system’s laser source was produced by the Turkish company Ermaksan, further emphasizing the project’s domestic foundation.
On December 25, SSB President Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced that ALKA had achieved significant progress in testing. He explained that the system is equipped with an electromagnetic interference unit, target detection radar, and target tracking system, enabling it to effectively identify, track, and neutralize threats in seconds.
During the live demonstration, ALKA was presented as part of a family of integrated products with varying power levels, adaptable to fixed, portable, and mobile platforms. This modularity ensures operational flexibility and adaptability for different mission profiles. Beyond its laser strike capability, ALKA’s electromagnetic interference feature allows it to disrupt enemy systems, providing a multi-layered defensive and offensive edge on the battlefield.
This achievement highlights Türkiye’s rapid progress in laser and electromagnetic weapon technologies, marking a crucial step toward modernizing its armed forces with cutting-edge systems. Once integrated into service, ALKA is expected to significantly enhance the Turkish Armed Forces’ ability to counter advanced threats in modern warfare.
